My close friend Christina recently took part in a production of Rent at Keegan Theatre in Washington, D.C. The show was a huge hit, and the phenomenal cast was nominated for and won a couple Helen Hayes awards (which are essentially the Tonys of D.C.). My friend’s responsibilities are taking her to Austin, Texas, so she held a going-away party, which started off at Surfside and ended up at Playbill in NW D.C.
First off, this is the talented Christina:

And this is surfside:
The party starters:

With the obvious vocal talent attending the party, the Karaoke set at Playbill got a good workout.

Crazy group shots:

All in all, it was a great evening with a ridiculous, hilarious, and delightfully raunchy crowd.
Christina, you will be missed!

I was hanging out with my friend Melody the other day, and we decided to do an impromptu photo shoot. I haven’t really done any “posed” portrait work before, so this was new to me, and since Mel hadn’t played model before, we were just a couple noobs trying to make it work. After some initial how-to-pose awkwardness, we did manage to get some pretty decent shots.
In case you’re interested, the location was here.

“Skyline Drive is a 105-mile (169-km) road that runs the entire length of the National Park Service’s Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, generally along the ridge of the mountains. The scenic drive is particularly popular in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. Annually, over two million people visit the Skyline Drive, which has been designated a National Scenic Byway.” -Wikipedia
I had the pleasure of driving down Skyline Drive a few weeks ago with some buddies–good manly time full of unsalted peanuts and vomit-flavored water (gah). If you find yourself driving up/down Skyline Drive, I highly recommend stopping by Dark Hollow Falls and taking the short hike down (warning: more strenuous than it seems). Snagged some pictures of the waterfall there for your viewing pleasure, but it’s not substitute for the real thing.
